I’ve written close to thirty novels, and I’ve sold thousands of books. I haven’t received a big publishing contract. I haven’t even made the New York Times bestsellers list yet. I’ve written in every genre that I’ve wanted to write, including nonfiction. My life has been more tumultuous than many can even imagine. I’ve survived some things that people would consider devastating. I’ve been a gangbanger, drug dealer, militant, revolutionary, activist, first officer in the NOI, poet, Spoken Word Artist, screenwriter, novelist, and writer. I’ve been a lover, a fighter, a husband, a teacher, a student, a father, a son, a grandson, a cousin, a nephew, and an uncle. It seems as though, I’ve lived two or three lifetimes.
